Art vs. Craft//HoverCraft

Another year of Art vs. Craft has come and gone.

Exhale.

I have learned from the craziness of past events to hire an event photographer and I'm lucky I have worked with photographer Scott Winklebleck in the past who returned this year to shoot again because I didn't take one single proper photo. I will be posting his photos soon for those of you who missed the event to check out and for those of you who were there but didn't get to see everything because it was so packed.

Coordinating an event of that size is no easy task. For some reason, this year, I feel especially wiped out. Don't get me wrong, I receive overwhelming support, positive feedback and tons of excitement from all sorts of folks, but it can be so easily squelched by complaints and naysayers. I've never been one to handle criticism well, and the lesson of never being able to make everyone happy is still unlearned in my book. But, I'm working on it. Regardless, the show was a blast. We had our usual 2300+ folks through the doors and vendors reported record sales. For now, next year's show is the last thing on my mind. If you are interested in receiving updates or applying to the 2011 show you need to sign up for the mailing list on the website.

What I am really excited about is a show I am a vendor at this Sunday. Yes, you can find me selling my work in Milwaukee, things I MADE, for the first time in 4 years at HoverCraft.

The rest of December I will be posted at Sky High Gallery 6 days a week holding down the pop-up boutique for the Holiday's.

Oh, but I am taking a quickie trip to Cincinnati to screen Handmade Nation at the Contemporary Arts Center on Monday December 6th. Let your Ohio people know.
