8000 miles away right here

Packing my bags for my trip to Oz. They are big, figured I don't have to do the normal travel light method since I'll be in one spot for 2.5 weeks. I found this site so I can figure out what day/time it is back home if I need to call, I still can't quite wrap my brain around it. It's always tomorrow there or something like that.

I'm off to Home Depot to pick up paint since I finally decided on colors for the walls- a chalkboard green for my new bedroom color and a golden yellow for the new office.

And, Aaron's got a new blog for the shop. I'm no expert of skate videos but this site he found sure is pretty.

Rockbiter, Bastian & Coreander

My employee at Paper Boat Joe has a sick habit of reading dlisted which I think is a pile of crap. However, today when I walked into the shop I heard the familiar song from the Neverending Story:

This post about the remake of the movie is pretty spot on.

Also a sweet shout-out by Meghan over at RockersNYC on their new blog about my book HERE.

A short two days until I leave for Australia.

Mesh & Lace

I can't keep up with my life. MKE to NYC to Las Vegas this past week....It's a bit overwhelming and exciting and exhausting and blurry.

You should eat at Freeman's if you are in NY and then visit Kiosk.
Suprise Ball from my new favorite store Kiosk

Homeward to the city from Brooklyn

Faythe + Barry

I got to drool over the work of Orly Cogan in person at her studio

A lady said the best thing to me at this trade show full of people I don't feel connected to "you gotta change peoples lives and it's great that you do" what a nice thing to hear.

Home to Milwaukee for a hot second then off to Australia.

Bridge & Tunnel

Took this today, it was on the building on the corner of Bowery & Spring that I blogged about from the NY Times awhile back. Love.
Andy Menchal took some great photos of our panel discussion at Powerhouse Arena last night.

Tonight is our big NYC debut at the Museum of Arts and Design, sold out show.

I was on WNYC today with Callie Janoff, listen HERE.

Just tried to find the link to the above said article about that building on the NY Times site and couldn't but came across this interesting article about house keys and love.
“Giving your key is like showing your underbelly.”

So this happened.....

Thursday was the US premiere of my first film Handmade Nation in Milwaukee. 700 people came out to support the project. I haven't really processed that yet and am just recovered in time to fly to NY this week.

Last night I had some old friends in town for the night. We cooked a giant meal and just chilled out. As I was sitting in bed drawing before I fell asleep I happen to notice next to my bed two books side by side both titled "The Happy Hooker". Glad I took a picture because I'm sure that realization would of been lost to slumberland......Such fantastic randomness.
The Happy Hooker x2

The Happy Hooker #1 is by Xaviera Hollander, a really great auto-biography about her career as a prostitute.

The Happy Hooker #2 is by Debbie Stoller, a crochet how-to book
