Soundtrack to the End of the World

chocolate first, whiskey second.
Sometimes news is just too exciting to only post on one blog. Being featured in the NY Times Home section is a good example of that. You can read about the experience on the documentary blog HERE
Also, I have securred dates with both the Museum of Art and Design in NY as well as the Museum of Contemporary Craft in Portland for screenings of Handmade Nation in 2009!
And it's true, always chocolate first then whiskey second.
Celebration!

A new kind of WEEKEND WARRIOR
We were scheduled to work at the Pabst Theater from 9am to 9pm. We did exactally that, in by 9 am and out at 8:58pm. The day went so smoothly with the first half spent shooting the band. The second half was the part that I was way more hands on with. I had spent the week prepping for the day and felt like it all came together really well.
We did three set-ups total after the band shots and nailed them all without any massive disasters. Sam had a really good idea of how he wanted things to look and we all followed his lead. Nolan & Gene made all of my sets functional and everyone was attentive and really into the shoot.
I think it was Nick who I overheard after we wrapped saying this is the kind of day where you look around and think to yourself that you would be happy to work on a project with anyone of the people in the room. And I totally agree, it was the PERFECT example of watching your friends do what they do best. Mad love for my peeps right now.
Now it's time to get ready for a visit from Penelope Green, the writer from NY Times who is doing a story for the Home section on our house. Totally nuts.... I'll believe it when I hold the paper in my hands!
Have a good week!

This past weekend I was in Chicago for a screening at the Hull House Museum. I also lost my mind shooting the opening credits for Handmade Nation with Annie Simeone, Jonah and Sam Macon at Radar Studio.
More to come on that later. This fantastic shot is from the pirate ship of Haley via Annie's flickr account, I love it.
